“Uncertainty Surrounds Upcoming Meeting Plans”

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 24 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The President of the Canary Islands Government, Fernando Clavijo, expressed on Tuesday his profound disappointment with the central Government, suggesting that he is starting to “believe” it is “unwilling to negotiate” a resolution for the allocation of unaccompanied migrant minors.

“I am uncertain if a meeting will take place,” he replied to numerous parliamentary groups during the oversight session of the Parliament, highlighting that they currently “lack information” concerning the distribution models the Government intends to propose.

Clavijo mentioned that the inter-ministerial committee meeting was “tense” and expressed confusion regarding why the Minister of Children and Youth, Sira Rego, had the models stored in her folder without granting him access to them. “It is difficult to accept that they genuinely wish to solve this issue,” he remarked.
