SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 6 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
An 81-year-old man has tragically passed away after drowning in the swimming pool of a hotel in Arona, situated on the island of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre of 112 in the Canary Islands.
The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon, at a hotel located on Andorra Street in the aforementioned municipality, where personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) were dispatched. Meanwhile, the lifeguards at the scene were engaged in resuscitation efforts, as the man was in cardiac arrest.
Upon arrival, the SUC team and local health centre staff confirmed that the individual remained in cardiac arrest and continued to carry out advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures, but unfortunately, they were unable to revive him and could only declare him deceased.
Officers from both the Local Police and the National Police arrived at the location to secure the area and protect the deceased until the judicial authority arrived to conduct the necessary procedures.
