A kitesurfer has tragically passed away after being retrieved in a state of cardiorespiratory arrest at Cabezo beach, located in Granadilla de Abona (Tenerife), according to the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre of 112 in the Canary Islands.

The incident took place on Saturday afternoon at the aforementioned beach, where the kitesurfer was rescued by personnel from the Beach Rescue Service of the Granadilla de Abona Municipality, who alerted 112 in the Canary Islands that the athlete was unresponsive in the El Médano area and that resuscitation efforts were underway.
