SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 14th Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Officers from the National Police, as part of their crime prevention initiatives, apprehended three individuals last September in a nightlife district in southern Tenerife. They successfully caught two drug dealers in the act at different locations, leading to the arrests of those associated with the distribution of illegal substances.
The initial operation occurred when police noticed a man apparently engaged in a drug deal with a woman. Upon spotting the officers, the suspect attempted to escape, seeking refuge in a nearby cannabis club. The woman was apprehended, and the drugs involved in the transaction were confiscated. The officers, aware of the suspected seller’s location, set up surveillance which concluded with his arrest on charges of drug trafficking.
During the same operation, the police caught a couple of tourists as they were communicating with an individual regarding a visit to a hostess club in the vicinity. The officers observed the tourists handing over several notes to a person who then contacted the establishment’s manager. Following a money exchange, two packages resembling cocaine were transferred.
In light of these developments, the National Police proceeded to arrest both the individual and the manager of the hostess club for their suspected involvement in drug trafficking.
Upon conducting a search of the premises, officers discovered several parcels containing 8 grams of cocaine, 8 grams of crack, and 669 euros in cash, presumably obtained from the sale of narcotics.
Following the conclusion of both incidents, the arrested individuals were placed at the disposal of the relevant judicial authorities for the alleged offence of drug trafficking.
The National Police remains committed to combatting organised crime and continues to work on dismantling any form of drug distribution in southern Tenerife.
