Three Men Sentenced for Brutal Assault on Young Man in Tenerife

Officers from the National Police have apprehended three individuals as suspected assailants of attempted murder following a brutal attack on a young man, during which they inflicted multiple stab wounds to his face and neck. The severity of his injuries necessitated immediate transport to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands in Tenerife, where he received 68 stitches.

The arrested men were brought before the relevant judicial authority, which subsequently ordered their incarceration.

In the aftermath of the incident, investigators commenced an inquiry, during which they took statements from the victim and a witness, as well as examining the video footage from the tram’s surveillance cameras.

The investigation led to the identification of the offenders, prompting the issuance of a search warrant. Shortly thereafter, one of the suspects was captured at the local police station in La Laguna while attempting to reclaim his belongings from the lost property office, where he was recognised by one of the police officers.

The remaining two suspects were apprehended on separate occasions by National Police officers in the southern region of the island; one was arrested for an alleged theft, during which checks of police databases confirmed his involvement in this case.

The third individual was stopped on the street after displaying signs of nervousness in front of the police, leading the officers to investigate his identity, at which point they discovered an active arrest warrant for him.
