He added that all of this will help visitors get to know better the crafts and cultures of all the participating countries, as well as that of the island of Tenerife itself.

In the first pass, the costumes worn by the popular classes of Tenerife at that time will be shown, taking a tour of the island’s regions, and with the types of costumes, for daily, Sunday or for going to church.

The costumes used in Tenerife, although having the same scheme, were differentiated from each other by colors, and some garments characteristic of each place; being identifiable in these centuries where the people were from according to how they were dressed. The most common materials were wool, linen and silk; of own production and local preparation.

In the second pass, the habits and customs of the popular classes of Tenerife in the period from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century will be shown. With the Industrial Revolution and new fashions and fabrics from Europe, farmers changed their way of dressing little by little. The country’s fabrics are no longer produced, there is no weaving and there is little raw material left; The fabrics and industrial materials that reach the islands are cheaper and more affordable. Cotton, viyela and new fabrics, as well as new ways of dressing, reflect the new stage with the arrival of the 20th century. Habitual and daily, Sunday or church suits will be included.
