Officers from the Civil Guard’s Roca Team, who specialise in the prevention and investigation of agricultural and livestock thefts, have undertaken actions to investigate a man, residing in the Tenerife municipality of Tacoronte, as the suspected offender in the theft of 1,600 kilos of avocados from a local farm.
Following the report of the crime, the Roca Team commenced an investigation which enabled them to gather the necessary clues and evidence to ascertain the modus operandi employed by the suspect, as well as to identify, locate, and investigate him as the alleged author of the theft.
It is important to highlight that the individual under investigation, who has a prior criminal record for similar offences, lives in close proximity to the agricultural property targeted in the theft. Seizing this advantage, the accused purportedly monitored the property continuously to ensure that the owner was absent, moments during which he capitalised to steal the fruit, amounting to a total of 1,600 kilos of avocado.
The actions conducted have been forwarded to the Court of Investigation of the Guard of San Cristóbal de La Laguna.
