Santa Cruz de Tenerife Marks 30 Years of Tras con Tras with Festive Street Celebrations

Yesterday, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through the Salud-La Salle district office, organised a festival from 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Tras con Tras murga, which included a tribute to the children’s group Pita-Pitos, also commemorating this significant milestone.

Attendees included the Chaladas, Bambones, and Diablos Locos murga groups, the Dibujas Personalizados group from the La canción de la Risa contest, along with the Los Joroperos comparsa.

The Mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, remarked that “this Saturday, everyone in Santa Cruz gathered at the La Salud market to enjoy performances from these groups that boast a rich history and esteemed recognition in our grand carnival, the Carnival.”

Meanwhile, Zaida González, the councillor for the Salud-La Salle district, noted that “we had the pleasure of experiencing performances from these celebrated groups within our Carnival” and elaborated that “the La Salud market also provided the backdrop for the music of the Primera Línea and Macaco orchestras.”

The event featured a canteen and picnic area, children’s activities, and a stall offering merchandise for murga enthusiasts.
