Over 66,000 Applications for Non-Teaching Positions in Education Sector

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 11th November (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands has received 66,183 applications from 33,622 individuals to enrol in up to fourteen lists of non-teaching staff. The aim of this initiative, led by Poli Suárez, is to mitigate the depletion of these employment registers, which is one of the primary issues encountered when it comes to replacing such personnel in the schools across the islands.

The most sought-after category is that of administrative assistant, which garnered 19,285 applications, followed by subordinate roles (9,886); educational assistant (7,771); complementary services assistant (5,833); early childhood educator (5,515); maintenance guard (3,643); kitchen assistant (3,470); nursing assistant (2,340); social worker (2,043); social operator (1,629); educator (1,566); domestic service worker (1,476); cook (931), and ATS-DUE (795).

The extension or establishment of these lists aims to facilitate fixed-term contracts for roles essential to the efficient operation of the educational establishments in the archipelago, including those that arise due to the temporary absence of their holders.

This Monday, the resolution from the General Technical Secretariat, which includes the list of accepted and rejected applicants for this procedure, was published on the Ministry of Education’s website. As of this Tuesday, a period of ten working days (ending on 25th November) is open for the submission of corrections and appeals. These submissions must be made exclusively through the specific form for the relevant professional category, accessible on the electronic portal of the Government of the Canary Islands.
