La Laguna’s White Night to Showcase Dynamic International Artists

The White Night of La Laguna, set to take place on 23rd November, promises to be one of the most ambitious iterations in recent years. As reported by the Councillor for Commerce and Tourism of La Laguna City Council, Estefanía Díaz, to DIARIO DE AVISOS, this year’s event will place a strong emphasis on local commerce and celebrate the 25th anniversary of Los Adelantados being designated as a World Heritage Site.

“We have proposals that were presented at the White Night Forum on Wednesday, and we aim to implement as many of them as possible, although not everything has been finalised,” Díaz remarked, suggesting that the programming is still being refined, though significant new elements are already anticipated.

The councillor emphasised the goal of giving “maximum prominence” to local enterprises, through a series of activities and events that will invigorate key locations such as San Juan Street. “A White Night is designed by and for businesses; that sums it up,” she underscored.

A more extensive and varied offering

This year’s edition will also showcase high-quality cultural performances, featuring international artists from various fields, which Díaz described as “quite impressive”. This cultural emphasis aims to set itself apart from previous years by not solely concentrating on music, providing a more comprehensive offering.

The councillor further noted that the shops themselves will be encouraged to host specific events, including fashion displays and other activities, in alignment with initiatives arising from the Youth Roundtable.

In partnership with the Cabildo de Tenerife, the Commerce department is diligently working to ensure that commercial activity serves as the focal point of Noche en Blanco, transforming this occasion into a platform that enhances both the economic landscape and the cultural heritage of the city.
