La Laguna Sets Guinness Record for Largest Gathering of Tajaraste Dancers

La Laguna enjoyed a uniquely significant evening this past Friday as it secured the Guinness record for the largest exhibition of Tajaraste in the history of the Canary Islands. Over 800 individuals from approximately twenty groups across the Archipelago participated, encompassing nearly 600 dancers and over 200 musicians, who filled the town of La Laguna with the vibrant rhythms of Tajaraste, celebrating the folklore of the Islands.

The local council expressed gratitude for the overwhelming enthusiasm shown by various groups from the Archipelago to take part, even needing to place limitations on the number of Tajaraste members due to safety concerns and the capacity of Viana Street.
