SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE Nov. 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) aided a 73-year-old individual this Friday, who had sustained moderate trauma following a fall in Santiago del Teide.
The incident occurred at 11:45 a.m. when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 112 of the Canary Islands government received a notification regarding a hiker who had fallen in a location that was challenging to access on the Chinyero circular path, which impeded his ability to continue and necessitated medical assistance.
GES personnel reached the individual using a helicopter and, after conducting a rescue and immobilising him, they lifted him aboard the aircraft, which transported him to the helipad situated in La Guancha.
Once on solid ground, the personnel from the SUC took charge of his care and conveyed him to the Hospital del Norte.
Local Police facilitated the helicopter’s landing procedures on the helisurface, while the Civil Guard managed the necessary protocols.
