VALVERDE (EL HIERRO), 15 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
A new cayuco, the fourth to arrive this weekend in the Canary Islands, docked at the Muelle de La Restinga (El Hierro) in the early hours of the morning, carrying a total of 87 migrants.
According to the Red Cross, these individuals were provided assistance at the port by the usual medical staff in such scenarios, with no need for hospital transfers.
This marks the fourth illegal vessel to reach the archipelago’s shores this weekend, following a cayuco with 57 migrants that arrived on its own to El Hierro early on Saturday; another boat containing 27 individuals was intercepted during the central hours of the day approximately three miles offshore from El Hierro; and a third vessel was discovered with 70 migrants in the waters near La Gomera.
