SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 8 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Maritime Rescue and the Civil Guard have discovered a canoe carrying 68 immigrants in waters close to El Hierro during the early hours of Tuesday, escorting it to a port on the island, as detailed by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre of 112 Canary Islands and Red Cross.
The cayuco, once located, was guided to the port of La Restinga, situated in the municipality of El Pinar de El Hierro.
Upon arrival at the port, the migrants received assistance from personnel of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), as well as Primary Care and Red Cross staff, with everyone found to be in good overall health.
