A Maritime Rescue team has guided a canoe carrying approximately 40 individuals to the dock at Los Cristianos on the island of Tenerife. The canoe was spotted by a ferry belonging to the Fred Olsen Express travel company.
At 6:20 p.m. local time, the crew of the Salvamar Alpheratz was dispatched following the observation made by a Benchijigua Express ferry of an unstable vessel located four nautical miles from the Los Cristianos dock, as reported by Salvamento Marítimo.
Salvamento Marítimo assisted the canoe, arriving at 7:30 p.m. local time. Following the rescue, the organisation expressed gratitude for the collaboration of the ferry and a fishing vessel, ‘Moby Dick’, for raising the alarm after spotting the canoe.
