SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 23 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government Council approved a budget modification in its meeting on Monday, aimed at increasing the actions undertaken by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Children and Families by 79,000 euros to enhance accessibility for dependent individuals.
This funding will support various requests made by associations and other organisations for groups and individuals experiencing dependency, ultimately striving to improve their quality of life. The financing of these investment initiatives will enable associations and organisations to carry out essential actions for rendering services of social significance, adhering to principles of solidarity and autonomy, in accordance with the regulations laid out in the Law of Social Services of the Canary Islands.
Through this initiative, the Department of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Children and Families aims to facilitate universal accessibility for older individuals, ensuring equal conditions in environments, processes, goods, products and services available to the public or for public use, in both urban and rural settings.
One of the department’s key objectives is to enhance the support offered to individuals in dependency situations. To achieve this goal, several measures have been implemented to expedite processing times, which have already started to yield positive outcomes. Since the beginning of this legislature, the time required to resolve applications has diminished by nearly six months, representing a 22.2% reduction in the last year.
