Café Confrontation: Trio Arrested for Offering Weed to Undercover Cops in Tenerife

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 7th Oct (EUROPA PRESS) –

Officers from the National Police, in conjunction with the Local Police of Arona, have executed a police operation at a café in southern Tenerife, resulting in the arrest of three individuals and the closure of the establishment due to significant technical deficiencies.

Among those detained is the public relations representative of the venue, who, unaware of the undercover officers’ identities, invited them inside to partake in marijuana. The individual escorted the officers into the club where illicit activities associated with drug trafficking were occurring.

Present within the premises were two employees, one tasked with dispensing marijuana, food, and beverages alongside their partner, who was merely visiting that day. Both individuals informed the officers that their employers had cautioned them against keeping large quantities of marijuana on-site, as the police had recently shut down several clubs in the vicinity.

During the operation, officers discovered a total of 930 grams of marijuana, 50 joints, and 1,100 euros in cash. Furthermore, various tools used for weighing and distributing marijuana and its derivatives were confiscated, along with edible items such as cakes, gummies, and vapes containing THC.

The operation concluded with the sealing of the establishment, a move coordinated with the local police in Arona. The three individuals taken into custody have been submitted to the judicial authority, and the officers are continuing their efforts to combat organised crime.

The National Police advises that if there is any knowledge, signs, or suspicions of activities that might be linked to such crimes, citizens can reach out to them via the police.es website, using the ‘contact’ button to provide information completely anonymously or through the email antidroga@policía.es
