The judicial authority overseeing the on-call court in San Cristóbal de La Laguna (Tenerife) – the Court of Instruction No. 1 — has mandated the provisional detention without bail for a 61-year-old man who was arrested for allegedly killing his 67-year-old brother, a cancer patient, and inflicting serious injuries upon his 49-year-old sister within a residence in the area.
As reported by the High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC), he is provisionally charged with two counts of murder, one related to his brother and the other for attempted murder concerning his sister.
This Friday, the National Police and the Local Police of La Laguna apprehended the individual responsible for the events that unfolded following a family altercation in a residence located in the Camino La Mina neighbourhood, where the alleged assailant resided with his deceased brother.
During the assault, the 67-year-old brother lost his life, whilst the 49-year-old sister was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital Universitario de Canaria (HUC) due to serious injuries.
