“Beneath the Surface: More Lies Ahead”

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 28 Oct (EUROPA PRESS) –

Journalist Cristina Fallarás, whose anonymous reports on incidents of gender-based violence have led to the resignation of Íñigo Errejón as spokesperson for Sumar and his retreat from politics, has cautioned that this situation is merely “the tip of the iceberg”, as she has been receiving accounts for several months that highlight issues across all levels of authority, from political parties to educational establishments such as schools, colleges, and universities.

She conveyed this during a media address ahead of her participation in the ‘Literature is Feminine’ gathering, scheduled for this evening at 7:00 p.m. at the El Tanque Cultural Space in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where she will partake in a discussion titled ‘What has happened to journalism?’, moderated by journalist Cristina Alcaine.

As a prominent voice in feminism through her essays and writings affiliated with the feminist collective, Cristina Fallarás emphasised that women have “begun to speak out and they will not be silenced”, which is why she is receiving “numerous accounts” relating to the abuse of power manifesting as sexual harassment, connected to men within the media, political parties, unions, large corporations, as well as educators in schools and universities.
