SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 6 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
National Police officers are probing the discovery of a significant cache of ammunition of various calibres, components of firearms, and materials for their production in a flat situated in Puerto de la Cruz.
The property where the ammunition and related materials were found had been unoccupied for a year and was located in a building that previously operated as a boarding house before being vacated.
It was during some renovation and cleaning efforts by the new owners that this ammunition was uncovered, prompting them to notify the authorities without delay.
Among the items uncovered were cartridges of calibres .22, .38 Special, .38 long, along with hunting cartridges, among others, as well as tools intended for the production of cartridges and parts of firearms, including a magazine and a revolver grip.
Following the appropriate investigative steps, the officers arrested the former manager of the boarding house on suspicion of illegal possession of weapons, as she resided on the third floor of the building where the items were found.
Following her arrest, the woman was submitted to the judicial authority while inquiries into the incident continue.
