The President of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Astrid Pérez, is set to attend the Coprepa meeting in the Parliament of the Balearic Islands this Thursday and Friday, alongside representatives from the legislative chambers of the 17 autonomous communities in Spain.
“It is vital for the Canary Islands to participate in this institutional forum for dialogue and discussion among Spanish autonomies, known as Coprepa, to foster connections, pool resources, and share insights regarding the operations of the various parliamentary systems,” stated Astrid Pérez in a press release.
Coprepa will conduct its presidential elections on Friday, during which nomination proposals will be introduced, followed by the voting process.
Following the election, the work agenda will be outlined, commencing the examination of the issues, challenges, and opportunities facing parliamentary systems in general, and regional parliaments in particular.
