A 26-year-old man has tragically passed away after being retrieved from the sea in cardiorespiratory arrest at Almáciga beach, located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
The incident took place on Saturday at approximately 16:00, when the 1-1-2 operations room received a call indicating that a man was in distress in the water, prompting the immediate deployment of emergency services.
When the GES rescue helicopter arrived, the rescue teams initiated basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures on the individual, who had been pulled from the water by a group of beachgoers.
After the SUC medical helicopter landed on the beach, the medical crew began to conduct advanced resuscitation efforts on the individual. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, they were unable to restore his life and confirmed his death.
The National Police assumed responsibility for the situation until the arrival of the judicial authority, while the Local Police assisted the emergency services operating in the vicinity.
